	maltsters.org Welcome to MALT's website. MALT stands for "Mountain Ale and Lager Tasters" which is a homebrewing club located in Asheville, North Carolina, USA. This is what we do: - Educate novice and experienced members to further their brewing knowledge. - Support the American Homebrewers Association and Beer Judge Certification Program. - Organize and sponsor the "Blue Ridge Brew Off" and keep it fun for all participants. - Hold regular meetings where members share tastes of beers and meads they've brewed. - Tour local and regional breweries and host responsible tasting events. - Support CBoY, CMBoY and CMMoY and the sponsoring clubs in North & South Carolina. - Host "Brew Ins" where club members brew together. 	Pay your dues online Use PayPal to pay your dues. Mountain Ale and Lager Taster annual membership dues of $20 is due each January. Payment through PayPal includes a one dollar shipping charge to pay for this convenient way of paying your dues. You may also pay in person at the January 16 club meeting at Rich Schumacher's home or by mailing your dues check for $20 to the invoice address. 	Club competition! Just a reminder, we will pilot the first "club competition" at our February meeting at the Black Forest. The category is "Strong Beers". I am working on a prize or award for the winner(s). I will share it as soon as I have something confirmed. Schedule: Month ----- Beer Theme Feb - Strong Beers Apr - Spring Beers (Maibock, Pale Ale), Cider June - Belgian Beers August - Lawnmower Beers, IPA October - Oktoberfest, Pumpkin Style, Fresh-hopped Beer (home-grown hops) December - Porter, Stout ~Adam

	BRBO Results MALT’s Blue Ridge Brew Off has proven to be one of the most fun competitions in the region. BRBO is a Qualifying event for MCAB, the Mid-South Homebrewer and Homebrew Club of the Year, Carolina Brewer of the Year, Master Brewer and Mead Maker of the Year competitions. The Dr. George Fix for homebrewers who have been brewing for one year or less is also a special award given only at BRBO. The Blue Ridge Brew Off is sanctioned by the BJCP. Thanks to everyone who entered and volunteered! Congratulations to the fine brewers below who won ribbons... The links below open Word documents showing results from each year.
