Welcome to Asheville!

The MALT (Mountain Ale and Lager Tasters) homebrew club welcomes you to Ashevegas! We’ve put together this guide to help you plan your trip, but realize this is just the tip of the iceberg and there are many more places to see, taste, and explore which may not be captured in this guide.

First let’s get the lay of the land. Homebrew Con is being held at Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville. Asheville’s South Slope is easily accessible from the event center and is one of the country’s most walkable neighborhoods for breweries. All other areas to explore will require transportation. Along the French Broad River is the River Arts District home to working art studios and galleries as well as cafes, restaurants, music venues and, of course, breweries. West Asheville is known for eclectic small shops, retro-cool music venues, brunch spots and breweries.

DON’T MISS Zebulon Artisan Ales – 8 Merchants Alley, Weaverville! They will be open all day on Thursday, June 18th from 1pm-7pm to give attendees a chance to check out Zebulon. They have a bunch of fun beers on tap including the last ever keg of Original IPA (circa 1780), East India Porter (circa 1800) and some rare bottles from the cellar. This is a free event and open to the general public as well.

MALT Passport

What’s that? MALT members brewed collaborations with local breweries to celebrate Homebrew Con. Visit each brewery to get a check on your MALT Passport. When all breweries have been visited and each checked off on the MALT Passport – turn it in for a drawing to win a $100 digital gift card to Asheville Brewers Supply.
